Ritz Lutheran Villa was incorporated in1971 as a charitable organization dedicated to meeting the residential needs of seniors living in the Municipality of West Perth, which was formed by the amalgamation of the town of Mitchell and the surrounding Townships of Fullarton, Hibbert, and Logan.
The organization, a registered charity, is governed by a Board of volunteer directors, who hold membership in the Corporation and who are elected at its annual general meeting. |
The Corporation serves as the parent organization for a number of services and programs that include:
- A Charitable Home for the Aged (opened 1974) - Ritz Lutheran Villa
- A Seniors Non-Profit Housing Complex (opened 1985) - Ritz Manor Apartments
- Home Support Services and Programs (started 1987) - Mitchell & Area Community Outreach, and the Mitchell & Area Mobility Bus
- A Life Lease Housing project (opened 1994) - Thames River Place
- A meeting and activity facility (2002)- Ritz Hall
- A second long term care facility (acquired 2006) - Mitchell Nursing Home
- Developing a Residential Home Suite Complex
